Statistics say that Family run Businesses have a 50% chance of closing down through each Generation. Caspro however, has beaten the odds – Twice!

What began as a family enterprise under Mr. Ambala Rathod has today evolved greatly into a forward-thinking organization led by Mr Prakash and Mahendra Rathod.

During a recent visit to the Rathod residence, I had an opportunity to interact closely with Mr Prakash and Mr Rahul Rathod, to see just exactly how they were consistently managing to stay ahead of the Game.

Here are 4 Focus areas for the Company Today.

1. Education- Up-Skilling and Training

Given the skilled manpower shortages looming over the Foundry Industry today, Rahul mentions that the solution could be developing In-house training modules, something they have been successful with to a large extent.

While middle management is something Caspro is looking at too, What Rahul is really hinting at is empowering the workforce to take accountability and responsibility for small actions on the shop floor, thus combating the intertia that comes with large sized organizations.

This also Goes back to and is in line with Caspro’s founding philosophy for success – Striving to become a Leader and not a Boss.

Mr Prakash Rathod further drove home this point by stating – “We want our team to not just operate machines but understand them and to not just think like engineers but owners,”

2. Building for Scale – Leadership

Caspro is also on the lookout for C-Suite Professionals who can bring in specialized leadership and structured management to take the company into its next growth phase.

With the level of automation in Foundries today, The Industry is turning away from being an Art form like earlier to more of a Science and at the highest level operates much like any other Business.

3. Adding Selective Capacity

Another key insight from the Rathods was their strategic shift toward niche and critical castings.

Rather than competing in commoditized segments, Caspro with the help of their world class infrastructure is actively exploring castings that demand higher precision, stricter quality standards, and longer-term engagement with clients. This approach not only ensures higher margins but also creates barriers to entry, reducing competition and strengthening relationships with customers.

Mr Prakash added here that unnecessarily adding Capacity would also attract leverage burden again, something that he did not wish to put onto Generation 3 too early.

4. Letting Data take the Wheel

In an industry often guided by experience and instinct, Caspro is investing heavily in data analytics and ERP systems to make decisions rooted in facts and metrics.

Rahul believes this is where the next transformation will come from stating, “When you start measuring, you start improving. Data allows us to see trends we could never see before, it gives us control and confidence.”

The Road Ahead

With a Strong Legacy, a New 3rd Generation of Leadership consisting of Rahul, Harsh and Jigar Rathod, and a focus on People, Precision, and Data, Caspro is quietly consolidating and positioning itself as one of the most progressive foundries in the Country.

Metals are Bright and for Caspro’s stakeholders, the Future is too.
