For years, solar power was viable only for big foundries with massive electricity consumption, However, these new government regulations have changed that completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Via this model, A developer builds and operates the plant fully and foundries pay nothing upfront.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Renevik mentions that a signed Power Purchase Agreement is needed as per the units the foundry would usually consume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per Renevik, Maharashtra now allows consumers with just 100 kW load to use solar open access, something that was not available earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gujarat too has removed all capacity restrictions and waives cross subsidy charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, even national rules dropped the threshold from 1 MW to now only 100 kW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These policy reforms have helped solar capacity to grow 90% in just one year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
